Pit Crew Needed
Baby Driver
Review by Ross Anthony

A fantastic first half that literally spins hopelessly out of control.

Wow, the film is out the gate with style! The first half taps to the beat of a cinamatic music video. Quirky juicy characters, an interesting set up and plot, and a fresh new style of filmmaking that inspired me to make 10 films by the end of the year. (Sadly, I haven't gotten to that yet. That's on me.)

But then ... uhm, what? Perhaps in an attempt to take this ride down a road less traveled, all the fun skids away. The second half revels in violence despite the lead character's disapproval. But, admittedly, I'm becoming less interested in violence in my movie-going experience. Either way, the beat gets lost in the spiraling plot. Nonetheless, what a first hour! Wow!

Rand() functions, Pho chicken soup, rollerblading, and frozen yogurt (w/ blueberries) also rock! (Btw, rand is short for random. It can also stand for "Really Awkward Nutty Dinosaurs" -- which is quite rand, isn't it?) Being alive is the miracle.
