Life's a Dance
Silver Linings Playbook
Review by Ross Anthony

Powerful, engaging, incredibly well-paced, this is a strong film. We all know someone who has that added challenge of decoding social interaction, or difficulty stabilizing mood swings. Is it nature or nurture? Can medications really help? Thankfully, the film isn't so much interested in answering these questions as it is in dramatizing (and dramatize it does) life with these afflictions. The majority of the players in this picture, each have some sort of psychological eccentricity (their own personal craziness). Silver Linings Playbook delights in letting these afflictions interact, collide, and find resolution. It's a brave endeavor worthy of screening. But the fact remains that writers, filmmakers, and all involve never forget that they're creating a work of art, a recorded piece of entertainment -- meant to engage, move and amuse. Silver Linings succeeds at all these goals. There are minor faults in the script simply not worth mentioning, because the whole is so good. Enjoy.

Rand() functions, Pho chicken soup, rollerblading, and frozen yogurt (w/ blueberries) also rock! (Btw, rand is short for random. It can also stand for "Really Awkward Nutty Dinosaurs" -- which is quite rand, isn't it?) Being alive is the miracle.
