K-12 READING & WRITING Presentations "Fabulous & inspiring!" Says Barbara B., Principal I've presented in Japan, Kenya, Norway and all over the United States. My children's book is in 8 languages, my trilogy stirs wonder in teens & middle schoolers And for 3rd graders +, my sweet little chapter book encourages. • Schedule me to present class by class or via assemblies. • I provide the Digital Projector and Headset Mic or transparencies with your overhead. • Each session begins with a tune from my handmade flute because ART needs: * 1) HEART/Message * 2) Instrument/Tool * 3) Willingness to Practice/Revise. • Slide by slide I'll demystify the book creation process. • I aim to motivate each student to view writing in a fresh, exciting, and empowering way. "Red marks peppering your assignments should not discourage you, but inspire you!" • Your students are full of questions. I'm full of answers. 1/4 hr student-centered Q&A. • Finale: I juggle & eat an apple at the same time. Why? Reinforces the 3 elements of art theme, plus they love it, and I'm usually hungry by then. • If requested, I read brief selections from my works, but any author can do that. My purpose is to inspire your students to read with all the fire of their curiosity and to embrace writing with all the passion of their desire to be understood. Schools all over the States enjoy these presentations at no charge - ask me how yours can too! I pay my own Travel/Lodging. "Fabulous & inspiring!" Barbara B., Principal "He was wonderful! Not only did he hold the attention of all of the kids (quite a feat when you consider the age span from 1st to 5th graders!) but his message resonated with them. Great Job! Thanks for coming out!" Tracy U., Teacher "Informative and fun! ...really related to our large group of 8th graders! ...gave them insight!" Barbara W., Librarian "The kinders really enjoyed the presentation and learned some cool stuff. They loved having their very own personally signed copy of the Ants book." Stefani R., Teacher "It's important for them to learn about the process of how a book is created. ...And they loved the juggling!" Tammy T., Teacher "That was the best presentation I've ever seen." John D., Teacher "I can't believe it, now my kids are really into writing -- they even won some writing awards." Sandy Y., Parent Author/Illustrator Ross Anthony
