Monterey Highlands Teachers & Students Speak!

> What was the most interesting thing that has happened to you in your travels? - Ms. E.
Every day something interesting happens in real life. The question is: "Are we open enough to see it?" When traveling multiply that by a factor of fifty. I fear I've been too vague. So, I will leave you with a few interesting happenings among hundreds. While visiting a fenced in forest (sort of a zoo) in Zimbabwe, I pet a cheetah through the chain link. It purred. That alone, would have made my day. But shortly afterward, a keeper asked me if I wanted to "play with the lions." They opened the gate and I joined a few big cats for some romping and wrestling. But not all interesting things are so "wild." In Taiwan, I was invited to dinner with a modest country family that worked the land. They did not speak any English. Later, the husband showed me around his orchard. That was a beautiful day. Thanks for asking...
> How come your books have never been made into a movie? - Catherine
- Yeah, good question! I've had producers interested. But none have purchased the rights yet. Perhaps someone from your class will grow up to be a director and change that. :)
> how old are you? - amanda
- Yikes, such a direct question. I'm somewhere in between your age and being dead.
> Please shave your beard! - zang
- No need to say please, I usually shave in the summer. However, if you get Mr. Cash to shave before then, I'll shave too.
