Living in the Past
Lake House

A romantic, warm, cuddly, somewhat supernatural film. What if there was a love in your past, the one real love, that you let slip through your hands. Perhaps you’re living that relationship out in your head. You’re spending your present reliving that relationship. It seems so real, but there’s lag in time of a few years. Are you sure you’re only reminiscing? Or is it real, the letter dated two years back, feels like you’ve read it today for the first time. And then when you respond to it today, you get a seemingly fresh response tomorrow, but it’s again dated two years ago.

Your friends are worried. Are you losing your mind? So many people get stuck living in the past and they miss what’s going around them today. But what if the relationship is real and now, it’s just that the lover is stuck in the past?

Anyway, like all good romantic movies there’s a beautiful house on the lake and a cuddly dog. Good writing, great direction, sweet cinematography and good acting -- even by Keanu. I would have done the ending a little differently, but it’s all still very nice -- gives you that wonderful eerie feeling. Bring your sweetie.
