What's Your Favorite Thing About Earth?
The Space Between Us
Review by Ross Anthony

Sweet, but uneven. It has a bit of Truman Show and Harold and Maude going on. I love these kinds of films. Both Gary Oldman and Asa Butterfield give strong likeable performances and Britt Robertson too, but this space tale does have its rickety moments. Further, there are a few scientific blunders. Perhaps viewers won't mind, but you can't have real time communication from Mars to Earth. That is, unless Einstein was wrong.

In sum, quite imperfect, but undeniably wonderfully charming at times. I loved the love story, loved the fish out of water story, hated the "chasing/running," would have enjoyed more of Asa getting to know Earth. Anyway, I think it's a beautifully curious premise that could have been developed into a TV series. (A teenage me would have made this one of his favorite films.)
