Excellent open, powerfully engaging all the way to midway, at which point the rich drama descends to seemingly-contrived suspense tactics far beneath the earlier quality of the film. Ben Affleck purposely underplays his character, making him interesting, but not terribly memorable. Kudos to Ben for including the unpleasant political history that preceded the incident. B/B+ (I'll round up).
