Imaginary Friend
IF
Review by Ross Anthony

I cried like a little kid. Bring your imagination, your open mind, your open heart, and lots of Kleenex. This is exactly the kind of film we need more of.

A beautiful sweet story that will enchant and inspire you. It will tug at your heart strings and get you laughing out loud. While the pace is slightly uneven, there’s a sequence very near the middle that will simply knock your socks off. So maybe bring another pair of socks, too.

Potential Spoiler: This film is taking a lot of critical dings for a storyline that, granted, could have been more solid. And from the eyes of an adult, it does have some serious holes. May I suggest, instead of trying to align the surreal part of the story with the real part, allow yourself to let the imagination of a 12 year old (who’s trying to stop her heart from breaking) tell the story…

I saw this at a regular theater, the audience applauded upon the conclusion.
