I spoke with director/choreographer Todd Nielsen about the musical Desperate Measures at International City Theatre which opens in Long Beach this month. He says it's foot-stomping fun. Despite its Shakespearean inspiration, it's more like a Knott's Berry Farm good time. Click the play button below to listen to that interview.
From the Press Release: The 2017 Off-Broadway production extended three times at the York Theatre, where it was the winner of two Drama Desk Awards for “Outstanding Musical” and “Outstanding Lyrics”; the Outer Critics Circle Award for “Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical”; and the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for “Best New Musical.”
Directed by Todd Nielsen, 2025 performances take place Feb 19 thru Mar 9.
