Having enjoyed the first two Paddingtons, I made myself a marmalade sandwich and watched this third installment in Peru. To clarify, I saw it in the Los Angeles area, but the story takes place in Peru.
Like the bear itself, the film is warm, good-natured, quirky, fun, and, of course, cuddly. With a nod to Indiana Jones, Paddington and the Browns find themselves in a foreign mystery adventure. With marvelously nuanced performances by Antonio Bandaras and Olivia Coleman, the film twists and turns through the jungle and storyline with a lovely pace, score, and magical whimsical graphics thrown in just for fun.
While I am a fan of Hugh Grant, I could have done without his cameo ending add-on. Still, the film, like Paddington himself, will bring that much needed good-feeling into your life.
