Under The Skin is a solidly entertaining play - lots of out loud laughs, despite the subject matter. I recommend it. Hollinger is the author of over two dozen plays, including Ghost-Writer, also produced by International City Theatre. His play, Opus, became one of the most-produced plays in America following its off-Broadway run, garnering Barrymore and Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding New Play, a Steinberg New Play Citation from the American Drama Critics Circle. We had a lovely phone discussion about writing plays and organ donation a few weeks before the West Coast Premier of Under The Skin in Long Beach at International City Theatre. International City Theatre (at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center) is walking distance from Shoreline Village. Go early and enjoy the day strolling the shoreline, visiting the aquarium, circling the lighthouse, enjoying the view of the Queen Mary. So much to see, all within walking distance.
