The only thing I didn't enjoy about this film was the odd
noisy open with Alec Baldwin. Alec is not in the film other than that, and
this intro feels like an afterthought tacked on later. Spike Lee's BLACKKLANSMAN succeeds at a difficult task - telling a true
story about a deathly serious issue with grace and humor in a way that
both entertains and educates.
I cringed at the hate speech, and I
laughed at the film's unique way of poking fun at it. Washington and
Driver have a great working chemistry, both deliver marvelously
memorable performances.
