Rhythm of the Sea
El Ritmo Del Mar
Review by Ross Anthony

The Latin band Huayucaltia plays live while the video "Sea Exhibition" takes to the screen behind. It's a nice mix of good music and fun under-the-sea images of interesting fish. This A/V performance is framed by Andrea Choe, a student at Caltech, and the discussion leader. She takes time to prep kids to watch the fish with the inquisitive mind of a scientist. Substantial time is also given to a discussion with the band members. How did you first come to play music? What is your favorite instrument? The entire program ran about an hour and the many many families in attendance seemed to enjoy it. My girlfriend and I did as well. She bought their CD after the show.

This review based on the October 11th, 2008 show at Caltech, Beckman Auditorium. www.events.caltech.edu

Rand() functions, Pho chicken soup, rollerblading, and frozen yogurt (w/ blueberries) also rock! (Btw, rand is short for random. It can also stand for "Really Awkward Nutty Dinosaurs" -- which is quite rand, isn't it?) Being alive is the miracle. Special thanks to Ken Kocanda, HAL, Jodie Keszek, Don Haderlein, Mom and Pops, my family, R. Foss, and many others by Ross Anthony. Galati-FE also deserves a shout out. And thanks to all of you for your interest and optimism. Enjoy great films, read stirring novels, grow.
