This is a beautiful movie. Tough, yet tender, inspiring, yet realistic, uplifting, but not preachy. The previews looked good, but admittedly I was bemoaning the casting choice of Viggo over the tried and true tough/funny thugs like Pesci or De Niro. As with most moaning, my moaning was needless. Mortensen knocks it out of the park. Ali and everyone else in the picture are strong as well. Lovely visually, scripted to near perfection, and enduring start to finish. I laughed, I cried, I'm edified. Great music too. Go see it.
