Fascinating, riveting, heartfelt. Definitely an insider look into one particular spiritual group lead by a charismatic, yet flawed guru as told by the ex-members (with footage of them while they were active members). The coverage and access is a documentarian's dream, because the filmmaker in this case, just happened to be a member. He was shooting footage, mostly promo video for the group, and had no idea he'd end up using it in this more revealing manner.
A powerful cautionary true story, but also a beautiful collection of spirits. I love how the documentary doesn't keep things cut and dry, good and bad, but simply tells its story with all the beautifully human intricacies and difficulties of a full journey through this life.
Should be required viewing for anyone blindly devoting themselves to any group. The doc doesn't knock such devotion, but rather encourages viewers to reconsider the "blind" part.
