The Force Awakens
Star Wars VII
Review by Ross Anthony

It's not just that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill are back on board the Star Wars wagon, it's that iconic 70's logo, it's that powerful John Williams score, and even more it's that familiar set of circumstances as a whole that re-awaken the charm and wonder of that very first Star Wars film from 1977.

That said, while you'll love seeng the vets, the rookies carry the film. Very nicely directed and edited, this episode clips along with a swift pace that never slips. The visuals are strong as well. That "snow falling on cedars" fight scene is gorgeous. And while emotional drama sparks here and there, this is really a rather light and even humorous action film.

It's a strong (though not quite awesome) cinematic experience, but it is absolutely a lot of good consistent fun.
