Yogawoman is a celebration of both yoga and women. It follows the flow of the practice from a predominately male-employed function to predominately women-populated journey. Yogawoman displays modern yoga in all its varied and evolved incarnations, and all from the prospective of women. Interviews include a rainbow of professional woman yoga instructors and students all converted to yoga. Many healthy souls and bodies thank yoga as that life-changing event without which they may have been lost.
Annette Benning narrates, but the sound quality isn't quite as professional. Motion graphics also accent nicely some artistic segue moments that give the production spark just as it's in danger of becoming perhaps a bit too mellow. It's a beautiful thing to see so many people, so committed to something so healthy. I screened Yogawoman with my girlfriend, who as it turns out, teaches yoga. Her feelings were mixed. She found it somewhat lackluster, but nonetheless stated that she'd like to see it again because it held within several "quote gems" that she wanted to remember.
